I currently own a 2004 4400 ex which is a great machine but I have found it underpowered a few times when I needed the power. I do not want to touch the stock motor on it because it runs great and I maintain it maticulously. Let me get to the question at hand. I am considering upgrading to a Raptor 700 or a KFX 450 and I am trying to make an informed decision. I asked this same question in the KFX 450 forum and got the responses I expected, everyone pushed for the kfx 450 and gave their reason for doing so. Can you let me know how your Raptor 700 matches up with the KFX450? Any response would be helpfull. I know that they are quite a bit different, but I ride for enjoyment and am looking for a powerfull machine with good handling. The reverse gear is the bonus. If this helps I am 6'3" and 220 pounds and ride for enjoyment.

A guy your size shouldn't even consider a 450 unless you plan on adding bar risers. I'm 5'8" 190 and I felt cramped on every 450 I've sat on. The kfx is a nice looking bike but its the slowest of all 450's stock. All 450's require more maintence than both the 660 and 700r. Basically, I'm saying you can't go wrong by going with the 700r. Go to youtube.com and type monsterquad 700r to see a video of my beast. Ride both and see which one you like the most. Good luck!!!!!

Have you considered the KTM 525?

How much are you looking to spend?

ktm's are sick. If they were out when i bought the rappy id probably have a hard time deciding. I wouldnt take my raptor back now that i got it where i want it though.

I rode the kfx it was stock, didnt really impress me like i thought it would. Id rather be on a yfz or 450r that the kawi.

Between the 2 id take the raptor all day and im small 150lbs and 5'5 i just had to tame it down w/ a stabalizer and flexx bars so it wasnt ridin me lol

I don't think I've read one review that said the kawi 450 is the slowest. Where are you getting that info. from? My friend has one and it's anything but slow. He's also 6'4" and has no problem

The last two issues of dirt wheels covered all of them.

Dirt wheel summed it up saying that the Suzuki 450 was the most MX ready out of all the 450's and the KTM 525 was the most XC friendly.
