How would I stop it?

when exactly does it pop? When you are mid range and completely let off? or when you slightly let off? If ifts when you completely let off, righen up you mixture screw. If its when you slightly let off, move the clip on the needle down one notch until it goes away

Also check to ensure that the head pipe is sealed up against the head. A small air leak there may also cause a slight backfire when letting off of the throttle.

Yeah - I was going to say it sounds like an exhaust leak - mine was popping, too - checked the header and had two bolts loose.....check that before you mess with your jetting - way easier to fix! :D
