can a bad head gsket cause backfireing???

my quad backfires, but only when i let of the gas. will a bad head gasket cause that?

I'm not for sure about the head gasket causing the popping, but I do know that lean jetting will create a popping on decel.
Is your jetting correct?

thanks everybody. chances are i have an exhaust leak. my jetting should be about perfect.
