Someone wanted to see a pic of this Laeger that a friend of mine had. This was Barry's quad in '98, then Chad Duvall rode it after that. For those who might remember, this chassis was green when Duvall rode it. It still has the PEP's with Barry's name and specs engraved in them. When my friend bought it as a roller, he sold off the Pro-trax front end and replaced it with a ball joint set-up. I wish I would have had room to keep it, I would have bought it. He sold it today for $4500.

It was me who wanted to see it. I see it's changed a lot. I saw this in the trader months ago and called about it, but didn't have enough goodies.

Barry Hawk was 5 times the rider Bill Balance could ever be! Balance just had the factory backing that put him at an advantage for a few years. When Barry was schooling all the XC crowd EVERYONE rode R's, and had pretty much the same set-ups and parts available to them...Not too hard to dominate when you have a shock guy, a motor guy, an exhaust guy, a tire and wheel guy, more horsepower, and an ego the size of texas! Now that the other factory teams are stepping into the game...pure skill dominates, not "top secret equipment". Bill Balance has done ALOT for the XC scene BUT, as far as a top caliber rider...I am not so sure about that! In my opinion Barry Hawk is a TRUE XC legend...not a bottomless pockets race team riding on the factory train in a grass roots sport! I could be wrong though....just my opinion!
