is it just me? or does it look like those shocks only have about 3" of shaft travel??? not much of a "long travel" with those!

Ya thats all it is. I think Im gonna get a single armed predator with 1 elka in the rear that would be awsome.

hey guys i have new apex in the shop now. i will be working on my long travel a-arms for the front and a new chrom-moly swing arm for the back. i think i will use the 13" on the rear like i use now to get the right amount of travel out of the bike. the way it looks now the rear has to much travel, when the chain hits the frame cross tube there looks to still be 1" of shaft travel left, will have to dig into it a little farther. dc

Sorry mxdad789, didn't mean to offend you! So what is the shock shaft travel on those front elkas then? Did you measure the actual front wheel travel with those shocks installed? Just on here trying to learn about the bikes I can't afford to buy, not to rip on what others have! I just didn't see how you could have a long travel front suspension with a shock with the same amount of shaft travel as the old style front ends. Did they move the lower shock mounts in farther to gain travel?

6.85" front with elka and stock arms on front

7.50" rear with elka and stock rear arm.
Granted, the travel is vastly supierior with the elkas.

But, That's why we went with Carters arms and rear swinger.
Riley needs Gobs of true travel at 130lbs. There will probably be a frame tube mod to insure we get all the travel we can get.

Thanks Billy for the iinf. Definitly more travel than the old Apex even with stock arms then. Do you still have Riley's old predator 90? Sure wish the Apex would have been availible when we started racing 3 years ago! Now Deric is attached to this Quad, and wants to keep it.
