My YFZ is having a hard time starting because i have a high compression piston i was wondering if you can take a cbr1000 battery and put it on a YFZ. I heard that you can and it will help it turn over better. If anyone knows please yet me know THANKS Also will it still fit where the stock battery fits

Any battery with demotions 6" x 3.4" (3 7/16) and under 6 inches high will work. You will have to cut out the plastic that seperates the battery and tool/owners manual. The 9bs (cbr 600 battery) is what most people run. Its around 4 and a half inches tall and has 120 cranking amps. I have a battery thats in the brute force in mine. Its a 14bs is around 5 3/4 inches tall and has around 200 cranking amps. You can get either from walmart for around 50 bucks. I beleve the stock is 75 cranking amps.

The cbr batt will help some, But some people convert to 24 volt system, which is best. Not sure how to do it but I see yfz's with the 24 volt system everynow and then. Dont know if they have two 12 volt batteries wired or if they found one 24 volt battery.

Most people with big bore high comp motors switch to a kick starter, this might be better for you.

I had a 13 to 1 with the stock battery and nevery had any problems starting. Might want to check the valve clerance. Or at least he exhaust one that the decomp pin hits. If its not right you will have starting problems even with a bigger battery.

I went to a bigger battery after the stroke, bore, port work, and cams.
