i have a stock 04 450r i put on a fmf power core 4 silencer and a hrc headpipe. do i need a hrc needle? FMF said i could use the stock needle with just the slip on. any help would be great.

Im not sure on to 04-05 needles , but on the 06-08 the engine goes lean just off of idle when you put a pipe on it. everone has told me to put a smaller leak jet and hrc needle to get better throttle responce. If your 04 is not bogging when you give it throttle, it will bo ok.

it will idle but when i give it gas it dies.

you can use the stock needle, but the HRC is a better needle. have you even put a bigger jet in after adding the exhaust??

i did not change the pilot jet.

Where did you get an HRC headpipe for an 04? Honda doesn't make one.... the HRC headpipe is for 06+ motors....

oh ok. didnt even think about that. it bolts up just trying to get it dialed in if possible. thanks for everyones help.
