The one on the can is the compression adjuster and the one on the bottom of the shock is the rebound adjuster. It is hard for a bigginer to know how too feel what needs adjusting but as you ride more you will get it better.

For starters run the compression adjuster as low as you can without bottoming out on the big stuff. The lower the setting the more oil will flow back and forth from the canister to the shock. This means cooler operation and a plusher ride. Adjust the compression up when you start to botom out. You should just barely bottom on the biggest jump on the track.

The rebound determines how fast your shock returns to its uncompressed length after it is compressed. If it is too slow your shock will "pack up". This means that if you are in something like a whoop section that the shock will not return to length before you hit the next whoop and you have no travel for it because it is still compressed. If the compression is too fast you have a pogo stick to ride on. It will return so fast that it can actually bounce you off the ground. Try starting with the rebound at the half way position and try to adjust as needed from there. Turn it all the way to one side and then count the clicks to get it all the way the other direction. turn it back half that number of clicks and you are at the half way point.

also make sure your ride height is correct before anything else. Use the preload adjustment to get the proper sag and ride height with you on the quad.
