thinkin of puting a steetbike eng in a quad frame. i can buy a 600 for about $150, and need advice on what kind of 'used' frame would be easiest to modify for this project. has anybody attempted this before?

my friend stuffed a 750 in a tecate frame. you'll want a frame that origionally has a big engine in it. i would try like a banshee or quadzilla for first pics. a raptor or ds would be next in line. you want a bulky frame for a bulky engine otherwise it has a bigger chance to break. just my opinion good luck man :)

a quadzilla frame is the most popular for it or a banshee

yah what the other guy said, get a frame that already had a powerful, big motor in it. Also make sure you gusset the frame.
go with a quadzilla frame

where would i find a quadzilla frame, ive never seen one for sale, so i might go with a banshee frame. there are lots of aftermarket parts, suspension and such for those

I sen one a guy with a cbr 600. He used the bike frame and the front half of a Lt250 frame. Made a swingarm using parts from the lt. It actually turned out real nice.

you can get a mojave frame super cheap and they are tall..fairly easy to put big motors in.

i got to doing a search of tecates, and i really dont like the way they look. front fenders just dont look right. what years did they make them, is there a lot of aftermarket stuff, and what is the avalibility. im kinda leaning toward a banshee setup.

if you are leaning towards more aftermarket parts then your best bet would be the banshee frame. as it has been posted before they are ment for a high horsepower motor. and there are parts galor for em. best of luck with this project

Tecates were made in 87 and 88. 87's are green and 88's are white. Some parts are hard to get because kawasaki dicontinued a lot of their parts. And front plastic is almost impossible to come by.
the guys at socal speed shop put a honda cbr 600f3 engine into a 250r frame with 400ex plastics and it is quite functional, it is built as a mxer for the open class, i would love to see everyone getting pulled off the start and in the straights, that must be awesome

i search old threads and saw somthing like that, it had 400 plastics with a radiator, im not too good idetifying frames, so im not sure if it was a 400 or 250r frame.
hey i found a thread where i said something good instead of being an idiot
didnt u just get a warning within the last 30seconds about posting for the sake of posting?

I found a place once that was putting FZR600 motors and plastics on a blaster. I wish I could find that site again but I cant. It was kinda crazy looking really. Good luck with your project, I always thought it would be sweet to build one.:)
