you can maybe try the monster assault, it has red tears with black, gray camo background that would maybe be good

are you trying to heat the shock up quicker, causing shock fade premature. Great idea:huh

Dr89
02-14-2008, 11:12 AM
yes i believe thats exactly what we're all going for.

Please tell me your joking, how is a thin peice of aluminum going to hold heat in the shock?

TRUE DAT....haha that sucked!!

yea im not sure when that heat thing got turned around but of course i was being sarcastic when i said that's what we were going for :huh

that little can has no chance of hurting a single thing, thats rediculous

i dont really think such a thin piece of aluminum will bother my shocks that much, but anyway i dont know how long they are going to last, they might fall off they are only held on by wire ties

jim_beam_racer
02-14-2008, 08:40 PM
i dont see how there gonna get heated up with the can and i did ride good and hard when i did motorcross

i dont think it hurts anything but who knows

thats insane those can things wont do a thing and even if they did or if you just want to make sure nothing happens you could always drill holes on the back side in an orderly pattern to look good. I might put cans on my quad.

Hammer trx450r

Next time you ride hard for 20 minutes feel how hot your shocks are.

But i guess they would be fine for riding wheelies in the street

Dr89
02-16-2008, 05:09 PM
yea i forgot aluminum doesn't dissipate heat  oh wait, yea it does.

Hammer, you do realize that we're cutting huge holes in the top and bottom to make it fit, and mine is cut down the back as well...so there's absolutely no way its holding heat in...i didnt know if maybe you thought we were just sliding the whole cans on over it or what.

Hammer trx450r
02-16-2008, 06:42 PM
Well hell then lets put a sheet of aluminum across our radiators then.:p

Dr89
02-16-2008, 06:45 PM

Look im not breaking balls, to most of you it doesnt matter. Draggin, wheelies intthe back yard, couple laps around a track isnt gonna bother the shocks at all. Ressies are there to 1.hold more oil to keep temps down and 2 have a place for the oil to cool down. Now elka has ribs on their ressies to help dissapate heat.

Now you tell me that if you were very hot would you rather stand stand naked in the wind, or wear a thin windbreaker outfit?
I have never seen a pro that put these on his shocks, especially when sponsered by MONSTER, you would think they'd be the first ones doing it.

Hammer trx450r
02-17-2008, 05:09 AM
Do we atleast all agree that shocks fade when they get hot??????

Hammer trx450r
02-17-2008, 05:14 AM
If yes then repeated overheating of the shock will also wear it out faster correct????

And yes Dr89 alum does dissipate heat, but did YOU forget air is an insulator?

its ok hammer, you put cans on your quad too. Then when we do wheelies together we can look cool together as well. I love how you insist that we all just pull wheelies and drag. maybe if you ride were i do and half of the 2000 acres of trials are covered with whoops you'll change your mind. Oh and i dont think most of us would go long travel and bore out or spend close to ten grand to do wheelies either. we might not be as good as pros but we ride just as hard.:macho

i think we should all be friends:D no but for real it shouldn't matter what brand you ride or how you ride it as long as you ride something with four wheels your a friend of mine:ermm:

BiDo
02-17-2008, 08:34 AM
thats cool but you dont have to classify someone by how they ride, its like saying they suck becuase they dont go to the track and actually USE their quad to its somewhat full potential. I still think we should think about coating our exhausts in monster cans:p

Dude you got a complex there. when di i ever say that wheelie riding and dragging was for people who suck? :p :p
Riding wheelies and dragging just doesnt use the front shocks to the abuse of MX or XC. But thats funny you thought that:p :p

Dr89

haha yes, overheating does cause shock fade, but there isn't anyway these cans are gonna speed that up, they're just fun.

when we start putting coozies(sp?) on our shock cans then you can complain...come to think of it i think i have some pretty nice GIANTS coozies around here somewhere...hmm :p
