pilot jet

Will someone explain to me what the pilot jet is for? I've heard that it's mainly for cold starting, but does it have anything to do with performance once the quad is running? Thanks.

nope. its mainly just for starting your bike. has nothing to do with the power or anything like that. thats what your mains for.

The pilot jet controls fuel flow at idle and up to about an 1/8th of the throttle input. If jetting is not done correctly, idling, cold starting, and off idle acceleration will not perform well.

Exactly, a pourly adjusted pilot circuit will give you that dreaded "bog" when you twist the throttle, instead of a "snap".
