where is the ''T'' mark that needs to be lined up and what does it look like. thanks adam

On the flywheel cover (left side of engine when sitting on it) there are 2 plugs with internal hex heads. One is in line with the crankshaft and uses a huge hex, and the other is to the upper left of that (as you are looking at the flywheel cover). Take out both of these plugs. Use a socket (I think 17mm) to turn the crankshaft counterclockwise and look into the smaller hole (you'll probably need a flashlight). As you rotate the crankshaft, you will see several marks go by, then there is one mark labelled with a "T" next to it. The "T" is horizontal as you are looking at it. Hope this helps, if I have anything wrong somebody let me know. Otherwise there is a How-to in the articles section or FAQ I believe.

Like said above, the "T-mark" is horizontal and will directly line up with the notch in the flywheel sight hole. There are other marks on the flywheel so make sure you are looking at the right one. It should look like this crude diagram when properly lined up:
