I have a 2002 300ex I just picked up. I have heard the 250r a arms and 400ex ones fit the 300. Is this true? If so all I need is the upper and lower for both side and tie rods. Would my stock spindle work with those a arms? If anyone Has done this before and would know every part I need please let me know. And what about a 400 or 250r rear axel? Thanks guys

Search around on here there's TONS of info on the 250r/400ex front end swap. It will work but you will need a upper shockmount bracket for 400ex length shocks or custom length shocks. For the 250r a arms you will need 300ex bushings to make it work but your stock spindles will work. Some prefer the 400ex spindles but I didn't like how much turning radius it lost with them. The early 250r arms work best since they are camber adjustable and have replaceable balljoints. Or you can go with aftermarket 400/250r a arms.

A 350x axle will work but for a 400ex/250r/450r rear you will have to swap the whole swingarm, carrier, and axle assemblies to make it work. (requires some mods to the frame)

I appreciate all the info. The 250r a arms my budy has are from an 86 so it should be good. Will the 250r shocks work without that bracket or can I just stick with my 300ex shocks for now with those a arms

But if I dont use the 400 or 250r shocks I dont need the bracket right? And how hard is it to get the bushings out of the 300 a arms and into the 250r arms? Any tricks?

Stock 300ex shocks will be way too soft with extended a arms. You will need the 250r/400ex shocks and upper shock mount bracket. The only other option is to order custom length after market shocks if you don't want to run the shock mount bracket. The bushings just slide out of the a arms and the 300ex ones fit right in place. No tricks needed. The 250r bushings are too long for the 300ex frame mounts which is why you will need the 300ex ones.

yeah, youll need to use the 250r or 400ex shocks and the bracket. i put the 250r front end with kfx400 front shocks on my old one. definitely worth the money.
