How would make that a ricer? Because the engine is built by Izuzu? GM owns Izuzu and has for awhile.

I believe the new engine designed and built by Duramax, GM and Isuzu co-own that corporation

The mpg doesn't seem much of any better than the current C6, and the diesel will probably a carry a $5k price tag minimum and a lot of weight. Seems impractical

if GM does that they will truely put a hurting on the modern muscle car era. No wonder they have a recorded loss of 39 billion dollars

Doing that to a Corvette or any sports car in general makes about as much sense as a football bat.

Although it would be cool to see the wanna be cowboys run a 10 inch chrome stack out the targa top.

It's not real. It's a shame though. It's really time the american auto companuies catch up with the rest of the world.

hahahaha, that's great. Honestly when I first read it I never noticed it was an april fools joke.

I think a diesel corvette would own! How in god's name would this be a ricer? That doesn't even make sense.

I think it would be cool to watch it outrun any modern "gasser" american muscle car. Imagine what a set of injectors and some tuning would yield? ahhh only to wish.

I understand that, so based on that knowledge, all chevy and GMC diesel trucks are ricers? Or that doesn't apply to trucks?

that's about what the gassers will do. With the technoligy on these diesel motors now days they should be able to do better than that.

Emissions systems are killing diesel motors of today. They are getting worse mileage instead of better. Guys on some of the forums have figured out ways to bypass the DPF filters on their trucks exhaust systems are are going from anywhere between 5-13 mpg (some towing some not) to 20+ with tuning and getting rid of that DPF. Let that show you what the emissions systems are really doing to these diesel motors. Emissions systems will kill the diesel motor and line the pockets of oil companies.
