not my quad but my friends r He has a hmf slip on exhaust, no air boxlid , jet kit from his hrc kit and hrc kit. when he first put the hrc kit in the quad started like any other 450r now hes had the hrc kit in for about 4 months probly 25 -30 hours and now it takes FOREVER to start. when starting it with the electric starter even when warm it usuly take 4 -5 min when cold it takes 15 min but if we pull start it it rolls right over and comes to life. what do u guys think is wrong with his r.

have you tried charging the battery? Thats why everyone has issues with the E-starts. The battery sucks and takes forever to roll the engine over.

I have stated before about e-starts. THANK ALL THE CRY BABIES WHO COULDN'T KICK THERE QUAD OVER. My old kicker started everytime on the second kick. My 07 I could only find e-start and wish I would have waited longer to find a kicker. Twisted will also back me on this issue.

You need to adjust the valve clearance.

Agreed

My friend has an 07 that wouldn't start. Checked the valves and the intake valves had almost zero clearance.

agreed check the valves, also check the decompression lever when checking valves
