i have a 2008 honda rancher its the efi...i live in mn and the temp has been consistently below zero every day fer a while... the first couple times it started fine...but now it wont start...one day it flooded on my dad and the book said to hold the throttle wide open and crank for 6 sec and that worked...the other day i went to start it and would pop but didnt start so i did the throttle thing once and still didnt do it and now we havent been able to get it started for a few days...does anyone know waht the problem might be...thanks in advance

Check all the obvious if you havnt already like fuel, your sparkplug, or listen if it buzzes when you turn the ignition on. If those arent the problem and it were me I would then take it to the dealer cause its brand new. Just my 2 cents!

well we called the dealer and they asked if we had taken it on any really short drives lately and i guess dad had started it a few times and shut it off just to see if it would start when it was cold out and they said that that will foul the plug so thats what was wrong

what weight oil do you have in it.....i would go to a lighter oil 10-30 syth

also get a battery tender.

and see if you can find a block heater
