Starting point for jetting?

I'm rebuilding my bike and was hoping someone with a good knowledge of jetting could give me a starting point for my jets.


416CC 10.8:1 JE/ Cometic Steel XR400 89MM Gasket
Hot Cams Stage 2 Cam
Removed Air Box Lid
K&N Filter/Outerwear
Stock Pipe With Baffles Removed
Grinded the stock welds on the head pipe


My altitude is around 700-800 ft.

You and I are close on our set ups. I started at a 165K main, 42K pilot and lowered the clip down to the 4th slot afterwards, I went down to a 162K main and it's still running strong. I need to plug check it to see how close it is.

Thanks that will give me a good base.

I just ported the weld off the insides of my stock head pipe. Man that thing blocked off a real good amount of the pipe. I would imagine it might pick up off that cheap trick.

I'm glad you did the exhaust mod too. It was pretty easy to do and it opens up the stock headers over 10 percent.
