I THINK, he had a 89mm piston and it didnt fit in the sleeve.

If you bought a 89MM piston and it didn't fit; You need to mic your cylinder to find out what size it is. If you'll take it to your local machine shop they will most likely do it for free, it only takes a couple seconds.

If you bought a 440CC sleeve you need an 89MM piston. If 89MM doesn't fit, you dont have a 440CC sleeve you probaly have a stock sleeve. If it is a virgin it is stock bore 85MM.

I would get it mic'ed at a shop, there is no guessing there.

the piston i tried to fit in there was a used piston. the box and the paper the sleeve was warped in said 89mm, and it fit correctly in the the jug. do you have to hone the new sleeve before it is used?

yes the new sleeve will have to be fit to the piston you are using.

has your jug already been bored for the sleeve? cause a stock sleeve has a 3.588" body and the 440 sleeves have a 3.729" body so it shouldnt fit. and the 440 sleeves come w/ a 3.400 bore and the 89mm pistons generaly run from 3.502-3.503 in size so the piston should not fit.

Yes he picked up a 440 jug with a screwed up sleeve.

So he ordered a new wiseco sleeve from the dealer and swapped it out.
