I sold my 300ex, and now its time to find a sweet quad. I dont know what to get though, a 250R or a 400ex???? This Decision is very tough for me..... Got any suggestions and reasons for a certain bike ?? I want a cannondale but i dont have that kind of money, and i dont like the Z400's so... its down to the 400ex and 250r.

well, i like 2-strokes, but they don't last as long as 4-strokes. i have ridden some 4-strokes, like a raptor, 300, things like that, and i like them, but i like the 2-stroke power, how it just all of a sudden comes on. but if you've ridden a 4-stroke your whole life, then get a 400ex, cause you'd be use to it. but the 250r is faster, and lighter, and stuff, but it will also need to be rebuilt ever few years or so. so maybe a little more maintiance. but it mostly depends on what you like to ride, the 400ex and the 250r are mostly the same, except for the motor. but i like the 2-strokes.

just my .02 cents

250r all the way, they dont break as long as u take care of em the proper way and more safely

you say you want a cannondale but to much money? Your pry gonna end up modding both of them and the 250r's are definitely gonna take a lot of money to keep going so why do you just save up some money for a large down payment and get what you want.

They wont go wrong if u keep em strong, which means chnage oil after every ride, chnage rings every 30 hrs or so, mix gas properly, proper jetting, clean air filter, good radiator fluid, strong crank and bearings, rebuild atelast every 1/2 a year, and your all set, they dont bust until you get sloppy and not take care of em, just need to rebuild em and keep more of an eye on em, if you do they cna be one ur best friends!

Nausty I only have a lump sum of money, i cant stand waiting for a quad, it will take me another year to get a cannondale, and plus i am not aware of any dealers in Ontario, I would sooner get a Honda. Question: would this be a good deal?

Go for the 400 if you want something reliable. If you're worried about power look at all the aftermarket stuff available for the 400 now.

I think i want to get a 400ex, because Yes you can get LOTS of aftermarket stuff if you want more power, as well as the R, but I want a really good reliable bike, like my 300 was. I find with the 2-strokes there is WAY more maitenance. I dunno, i am starting to lean towards the 400ex.
