Well its not a quad, but does have four wheels. Four VERY big wheels. I just bought it off ebay this afternoon. What you guys think?

I hope you saved money for new axles if your planning on off-roading it. That is the stock 10 bolt in the rear. That is a mall crawler. You'll def pick up chicks though.

Oh yeah. They were talking about this truck on fullsizechevy.com and some guy said he "heard" the guy had the stock gears in. That could be a rumor though.

Its at a car dealership and those guys dont know much about it. The previous owner/builder has a shop just right down the street from where i'm goin to pick it up, so hopefully i'll get to talk to him. As far as the motor, yes a 454 will prolly end up under the hood, then go from there.

I would personally put money into the rearend first. That 305 will do you plenty if the rearend is regeared.

If you get a 454 and 5:13 gears, and that thing will haul arse!

I had a '97 z-71 with the 5.7 vortec.Good truck but they are notorious for leaking intake gaskets

yea def SAS that truck and get rid of the 10 bolts...chevy 10 bolt is junk....ORU aka offroadunlimited makes a SAS conversion kit for that truck you can either use dana 60s or dana 44s....i personally would use the 60 esp with that tall of tire...you should also get a corp 14 for the rear of it....the ifs is junk

Better be getting 5.89s or maybe lower with 49 inch tires. You don't as much motor and maybe you can by with the 305 if you dont beat it too bad. It is a good looking truck. The 10 bolt prolly wont last. I got a 91 suburban with 35's and I went through 3 rear ends in a year til I upgraded to a full floater 14 bolt. Good luck with it and I bet you love it.

Dang that truck is huge, I feel bad for you if your going to texas to pick it up and plan on driving it back.

Going to cost you $9,000 in fuel and tires alone to get you home.

I was kinda curious on how you were gonna get it back home too. Cause you live up north right?
This truck is street legal as far as height goes?
It does look good though.

You won't need a creeper anymore. Could change the oil on your knees. Unless the truck comes with Verne Troyer, in which case he'll need a phone book to stand on.

Well I made it back with the truck tonite. Lil over 1200 mile round trip. I took a set of stock tires/wheels with me to put on the truck, loaded it on a trailer and hauled it back. Yeah, I spent over $400 in fuel down and back. It really is a good clean truck. The body/interior is excellent, and tires/wheels/lift is all basically new. Im am well pleased with it.

Oh yeah, and it does have 5:13 gears in it along with several other upgrades not mentioned in the auction.

i think you need to drop the tire size down to 44's those 49 look way to big. you can't even flex with them.
