I prefer Firebirds that are actually Pontiac powered. But I'd still take a 30th anniversary.

Mine. Waiting for a restoration.

There are only two pontiacs I like (keep in mind I was born in the late 80's and didn't experience the muscle cars from the 60's and 70's)

The would be the new GTO, and the WS6 Trans Ams.

I would love to have an older one, but you cant beat the power and the gas mileage with the newer ones.

Thanks...it WAS anyhow. I have a feeling it has been cannibalized for parts by now. The car had a few issues that could have been fixed but I doubt anyone did. I just hope the engine a trans found a good home. That thing was super fast compared to a stock 77. I used to toy with built mustangs with no problems.

Very nice. Needs the screaming chicken on the hood though. That interior shot brings back memories.:D Mine had slightly different seats. I would have like the 4 speed though. I'm apparently not the only one with the back of the shaker cut out either;) What year is yours? 77 or78?

My 95 formula definitely doesn't get 25 mpg on the highway...it's also bored to 6.2 liters with some other treats and its puttin out over 400 horses. Of course, when Im driving it around in the summer the last thing on my mind is my fuel economy....I'm more focused on making sure I don't have any blue and red's behind me.

Do you have an auto or manual? The T56 manual transmission is what really gets the mpgs because of the 2nd overdrive.

I have a 97 Trans Am LT1 T56 and I use it to commute 800 miles per week. I get 25 mpg on the interstate at 80 mph. I get 20 in town on the weekends.

No, because you make obsured statements that prove you don't know what you're talking about and you bash American cars in a thread all about an American car.

I thought it was a 78 but its hard to tell wihout seeing the grills up close. I like the clean look too but it just wasn't a TA to me without the bird. I always liked the orange/red color on mine since there weren't many like it. It was actually more red at times than it looks in the pic. It seemed to change color in different light. Hopefully I'll have another one just like it again someday. I've owned many cars and none turned heads like that one. I miss pulling into peoples driveway and having them say I rattled their windows when I pulled in. Nothin rumbles like a big block.

our motor was built by a master mechanic down the street. bored and stroked. it sounded so sweet:devil: (i'm not sure if 'sweet' is the word:chinese: ) but anyways, he bought everything cheap, and luckily sold it cheap. it was making 423 at the rear wheels and that isn't including the nos:macho

Nice...was it the olds 403, pontiac 400 or 455?

423 at the rear wheels isn't too bad. I think mine was rated at 345 at the crank but GM underrated them back then for insurance purposes so it was probably closer to 375-400HP.
