HELP I broke Something

Ok guys i broke part number 38 when i flipped the quad. What exactly is this? the description says "switch,clutch" How hard is this replace, and what does it do?

It is a switch that detects if the clutch lever is pulled in so if ytou stall it in gear it wont start unless the clutch is pulled in. You can cut those wires and splice them together to get rid of it, you just have to make sure not to hit the starter button when you are in gear or the quad will lurch forward. I removed mine the second I got it home from the dealer. Everyone who runs an aftermarket clutch cuts it off and splices the wires together under the hood.

ok sound easy enough but what wires do i splice into sorry newbie question

There's 2 wires going to the switch- just splice together to complete the circuit!

So i can cut off the connecter and splice those two wires together correct?

Cut the wires on the switch side of the connector not the wire harness side. You want the connector on the wire harness in case you, or the next owner, wants to put a new switch back on. Just cut the wires a few inches up from the connector and splice them together.

you can get the cernic's start button and it will take the whole black blob off and you won't have to splice the wires together....just plugs in where the blob plugs in under the hood

I own a 1987 suzuki LT500R quadzilla and while I was riding today I started to hear a noise from the case. I put the tranny in nuatral and let out on the clutch and it still wanted to lurch like it was in gear but it was really in nuatral.It also made a heck of a grinding noise when i let out on the clutch. I tried to limp it back home and now it is locked in first gear. any machanics out there have any clue to what may have happen?
this ATV is almost completely rebuilt. I have been replacing everything on it and i am almost done. it still needs new plastic. It has brand new hole shots front and rear, Fly bars,brand new billitt alum rear axle, billitt wheels, FMF fatty pipe n silencer, new bushings and bolts, new clutch cable , new seat, i can go on and on. i have replaced 75% of the bolts with light weight titanium steel alan head bolts and have the rest of the bolts to complete the whole ATV. Now i guess its tranny time?
