i bought this a while back thinking i could fix it up and have a nice bike, but things arent going my way so im selling it. well, its a 1987 and its got a few mods including...

Brand new EBC EP series clutch
Renthal bars
Twist throttle (stock thumb included)
Pro Design teather killswitch
gripper seat cover
Razr MX 19-5 front tires
Klaw MXR 18-10.5 rear tires
DG nerf bars (not on the bike)
ITP rims
Paul Turner pipe
shortened Pro Circut silencer
14 tooth front sprocket
38 tooth rear sprocket
DID gold x ring chain
.80 over Wiseco piston
UNI air filter
custom diamond plate air scoops
carb is jetted almost perfect
and im sure theres more im forgetting

it starts every time, second or third kick and runs great.

but its got a few problems. i put in the new clutch and when you ride, it slips. im sure it just has to do with something simple, but i cant figure it out. also, it leaks oil out of the bottom of the motor somewhere, and it leaks coolant out of the water pump cover. the gaskets are probably just bad. the back fenders were cut off by the previous owner and the plastic isnt that great of shape. thats all the problems i know of.

like the title says, first 1200 takes it. if youre interested, email me at yamaha_rider_55@hotmail.com or shoot me a pm on here. or you could call me, 417-531-3776 after 4:00

couldnt see the motor mounts, so dont know for 100% if its an 86 but that front nose piece is only on the 86's....

Wrong..86 and 87's had the nose just like that, but most 86's had a blue tank, nose and seat. If you look at the a-arms where they mount to the frame the smaller..so most likely it is an 87.;)

And +, if you look just above the left foot peg in between the frame rail you can see theres no cross over tube for mounting the rear of the engine. See how you can see all of the blue shock spring under the filter boot.
If you look real close behind the left foot peg you can see the model number tag on the sub frame.

I see something else as well that you dont hardly ever see on just any ordanary bike unless it is on a Pro riders bike + its not but about 3 maybe 4 Pro riders I even seen use them,,,, hummm wonder where they came from

Had one shipped a few years ago from Texas to the esat coast, cost around 375.00 then, your probably looking 400. to 450.00 maybe & depending on which carrier hauls it.

I'm guessing that the rims are tapped somehow for mud caps. They appear to have attatchment areas around the outer rim.

do I win? :macho

thats all I could see...What makes that so special? Is that something only Pro riders did?

You're looking at the right thing, but thats not what they are. I'm pretty sure those bolts in there act like a beadlock, they keep the tire from coming off the bead in a real hard landing. The previous owner put them in, so I didn't have anything to do with them. At least they look cool.

Thats right ;)
The owner before must have bought them from a Pro rider maybe at a national race some time or another. Has only been just a few Pros I know ran them for awhile & the only place I've ever seen them used was at the nationals.

See that junk. Every time somebody starts a thread on here about making their own air scoops, I ask about making a set from diamond-plate.

I think they look awesome, I want to get me a set.
