what jet do i need

my quad is running to lean. theres a 172 in there for a main and a 42 stock pilot. i have a 175,178,and a 180. what do u guys think

What makes u think its running lean?
A 172MJ is on the richer side for an 06.

Though for your mods a 42 pilot is small.

What needle are u running and what position is it on?
What leak jet?

I'm guessing it either pops on decel or bogs when u hit the throttle fast at low RPM?

my header pipe gets cherry red

Thats pretty much normal.I never noticed mine did it till i rode at night.If anything your rich on top.You should be close to the 06 hrc settings.

Is it only red for a few inches? or most of the header?

A little bit of red for the first few inches at night can be normal.

You could try a 45 pilot and see if it helps.

Before you waste your time with a 45 get a adjustable air/fuel screw if u dont have one and did u do the green wire mod.

On the 06+ bikes u can cut 1 of the green wires going to the CDI and it will raise the rev limit on the bike by 1,000 RPM.
