13 tooth front sprocket

Hey i have a 400 ex 2005 and i just put a 13 tooth front sprocket to compensate with my 22" rear snow tires . While installing the sprocket i noticed that the clip that locks the gear in place comes really close to the chains . I can squeze a piece of paper between the chain and the clip on the gear , i can pull the piece of paper out with hardly any resistance . Is this normal for a 13 tooth front sprocket ?

i have 13t also, and i didnt notice this..
there has been no problem with the gear, its not wearing abnormally or anything like that.

I have a 12T, and it had a clip.. I didn't reconize anything strange, snap it on and it was fine for me, for about 2 months untill I was sick of only having like 3 gears lol
