I'm having a hard time of getting the air tube on to the 38 mm a/s carb. I have tried boiling water and a heat gun to soften the rubber. I can't get it on. There is a 4mm difference between the two. Any other ideals on how to get it on.

There has been a lot of people that have made the stock carb to airbox boot fit the 38 A/S. All I can say is keep on trying. I carefully heated mine up with a blow torch to get it to fit. If nothing else, ESR sells an adaptor that will make things fit perfectly. The reed spacer that my88R is speaking of would only help you if you needed the intake boot, carb, and airbox boot to line up.

45lt80,

You have already tried the tricks I used to make mine fit, it may be to old, my buddy couldn't get his to fit and had to get a new boot. I checked service honda and they are still available, so you can replace it if needed. They are a real ***** to fit that first time. Roost on!!:D

one hairdryer, two guys, two screwdrivers.

go slow, try not to bleed....lol

another trick is to loosen the airbox from the frame and scooch if forward a fuzz, enough to gain your 4mm's. Stretching the diameter of the boots is the tricky part and needs a guy on each side. keep it toasty
