hey guys,

i just got a motor built. its an 05 450r with 13:1 comp, port polish, all just rebuilt.

do i need to get an ignition for some more power? everyone keeps saying just buy a rev box for the bike and you'll be good.

what do you think?

what brands on the rev box? anyone got one for sale?

thanks , let me know ur opinion

Do you feel you need either one? I wouldn't bother with either one at this point but that's just me. IF I were to spend the money, I'd get and adjustable Dyna-tek. Also check out the AMR monster coils on ebay, for $50 they have one heck of an increase in spark. I personally would save my money for other things, but that's just me.

I had my motor built simular to yours and I got tired of hitting the rev limit so I bought the Dana programable.

did you buy it just for the rev limiter though?

i dont feel like spending all of the money on an ignition when i heard its not a huge deal.

would a simple 100 dollar rev box be good? my motor builder said prolly just the rev box.

what u think??

I know back in the day a normal rev box did the trick. I just got mine yesterday so I have not tried it out yet. I got one because I can tell my motor makes power past the normal rev limit. I will tell you what I think of it when I hook it up.

i would say, dont worry about getting one, but if you do, do it right the first time and get a programable cdi. it wont take you too long to figure it out and they are alot better than the non-programable ones. Ive owned each and def prefer the Dynatek Programable.

ok so dont worry about getting an ignition?

is the rev box recommended to get a little more rpm?
