Who makes what?
All I know now is Honda is shaft drive and Polaris is belt drive.

Some people don't like Polaris because its belt drive. Can you get an after market belt kit that is bomb proof?

the polaris is going to break before the aftermarket belt does with in 10 rides j/k but i have an 02 honda forman and i have had no shaft problems but my pap said belt was better if it does break it doesnt cost alot to replace but i told him shaft was stronger and is not going to break alot. but no matter if you have belt or shaft its going to break sometime. i found two on rockymountainatv.com

A belt is a belt, and on a CVT drive like those found on a polaris, if the belt gets wet, you're SOL. It wont move. I hate belt drive with a passion.

We've had an 02, 04, and 06 polaris with the belt drive, and i would take my 85 honda over all of them. belts suck, thats the bottom line.
