How do you like those Custom Axis shocks for racing XC compared to the Elkas? Do you have them front and rear?

I am considering Axis for my 450R XC when I get it later this year.

DMR-XC is the brand, but I dont think they make them anymore. My brother in law has a few but I doubt he will get rid of them. On the other site (qdzone) in the Rath section they were talking about making some just like it, I don't know if they will follow through with it or not though.

The black one has Axis front and rear, my other one has Elka fronts and Axis rear, I actually like the Elka, Axis set up better, it seems I can hit jumps as well as XC, but for strictly XC the long travel hands down....

Hey what size razr II's are everyone running ? And Crash N Burn where did you get that graphics kit from?

infantry317
02-12-2008, 08:08 AM
21" fronts, I wouldn't run razrII's in back too much traction, you get tired more quickly, just razr 6-ply's in rear 20". RazrII's are good for mud though.

i love the Kenda 22" front XCF and the Rear Knarly XC 21" great combo for anything and the rears have good side wall traction for mud and ruts...

Nice 450r outforsand. Just one thing that exhaust system look familiar. Oh yeah its on my 450r now! LOL hahah So when are you gotta take updated pics of your new setup? Anyluck getting more power with that new exhaust sytem?

Ill take pics of my 450r very soon. I polished up the QRS a lil bit and put a red endcap on it i had lying around. Looks awesome.

out4sand
02-17-2008, 06:58 PM
LOL...that was about 10 minutes before I took the QRS off and then tried destroying the poor thing in the Phoenix mud :ermm:

I did a bunch of work on it this weekend - installed a replacement aftermarket CDI (mine went bad on dyno pull 3 so the company overnighted a replacement) , new clutch, cleaned out the rear end (carrier & bearings were filled with mud), and new front rotors (of course this will not help with power but will allow the right front wheel to roll again). I'm not sure I'll get a chance to put it back on the dyno before it is loaded for Round 2 of WORCS on Tuesday but I am hopeful this will help regain the missing top end ponies. I'm also going to use some of the same race gas I used on the first dyno pulls with the QRS.

I'll try and get some updated pic's soon with the new 08 rear swinger & new Fox Shox with DSC

I bet the red cap looks SHARP! Had I known I was going to use red when I ordered the pipe, I too would have went red over black. Looking forward to seeing it on your TRX!

That is a sweet looking ride you have! I'm curious, what kind of seat is that?

02-24-2008, 06:43 PM
I'm seeing a lot of stock shocks out there. I guess the revalve/respring are that good eh? Awesome looking quads though

yea they are that good. I wouldnt give up my revalves for anything other than a set of LT shocks. But that will never happen, cause i will never invest that kind of money into suspension until I am older and can afford it. I would be too concerned about crashing and breaking/bending an arm or a shock maybe....not sure. Just not for me yet. lol

This is the most recent picture of my quad. It was taken right before the Triton GNCC race on March 2nd 2008.

I've run #25 since 2002. Unfortunately my Dad died 3 days before the race, so to honor him I changed my # to 228. It stands for Feb 28th the day he past. i had to make a homemade plate for the race, because there was no time to order custom ones. I will have new printed ones soon.

03-13-2008, 06:03 PM
If you were there you might have seen me. Here is a picture of my rear plate.
