I am looking into getting my 4 year old son a 4 wheeler for his birthday. He has never rode one before. I have been looking into eton 40-50cc ones and have been told by several people that he will outgrow it too quickly. Anyone have expierence with this dillemma?

just buy him a 90. and crank up on the governer. then he'll fit it till hes 7-8 years old. and as he grows u can turn the governer off more as he grows up.

I would just get a small Ebay quad. They last. At less he's going to get into racing.

i would say get a 50. They aren't that expensive in the first place and most of the time you get your money back when you sell it a few years later. Putting 4 year olds on 90's is how kids get hurt. jmo

a 4 year old will not "grow into" a 90. buy the eton 40 or look at a cheap 50. You need to find one that fits him. I almost made the mistake of buying a quad that was too big for my son, thinking the same at first. after he test drove it, it was obvious, it was too big for him. He had trouble turning it and hitting the brakes...two most important things!

I would never buy an inexperienced rider a quad they can grow into. ANd you can always sell it after a year or two.

Yeah just get a used 50 for 800-1000 bucks, sell it in 2 years for 600 still not much money gone to waste.

a friend of mine's brother has a little polaris sportsman 90 and you can mess with the governer so much that it barely goes 10.

Go with the 50, My 8 year old daughter still rides hers. It isnt fast enough for her but she has a 50 Dirtbike that is more her speed.

I alos have younger kids so the quad will last a few kids. My older one will be getting a 90 this year.

Dont start a kid out on a quad thats too big. They will have trouble controlling the steering and the brakes, especially if its too much of a reach.

If your kid is big enough a 90 is OK, but that would be a pretty big 4 year old.

Good Luck.
