Will a 416ex beat a z400, Raptor

I have a 416ex with a stage 1 Cam, Jet Kit, and a DG slip on pipe and there is no atv's where i live. I was just wondering if it could beat the suzuki z400 or the raptor?

It will probably be equal to, or slightly faster than the Z400, but the Raptor will still be faster.

Ya, you'll be able to take a Z. But prolly not a raptor. Now some people might disagree with me on this one but i think a Z is a 400ex with 2 more horse, an extra cam, and liquid cooling.

Glance at the bottom. With those mods, Im able to crawl away from a Stock Z. Ive ridden a Raptor. My quad would be left pretty far behind in a drag race.

the raptor would flat out smoke it , the Z would be pretty even, the thing is about the raptor the chassis is not as good as the 400ex, I had a 2001 raptor and had to spend more time working on it than riding it, what a piece of S@!$%, tranny blew up, broke the keyway on the flywheel 3 times very happy to have sold it and got back to hondas ,they say they addressed these issues on the new ones 2002 and up raptors but I am not going to pay $7000 to find out. man I wish honda would get back in the game and build us the race quad we are waiting for I would be the first in line.

you probably might be able to beat a stock z-400, but a raptor would just absolutely smoke the he!! out of you, i have a hard time hanging with raptors, i usually can only beat them in a drag if i get the holeshot. but on a track, thats a different story.....

really a 416 with all that stuff that you have on it gets killed by a stock raptor? seriously? damn i think i am saving my money for a frame made for the crf450 engine, and buy a 450 for it

I wouldn't get that down on the 416 just yet. With mine, I have no problems with the Z's, and there are some Raptors I have beat, and some I have lost to. I'm hoping to make the odds slide my way a bit more by putting on an FCR 39 carb. Keep in mind though, it's not just the machine, its the rider that plays more of a role in who wins or loses.

a 416 give a raptor a pretty long view of the back of his sparks pipe!!!!!!!!!!!! raptors suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 660 ccs of pure crap!!!!! and as for the z, not a chance. thats why the boyz w/ the z are putting honda parts on them to make'm faster!!!

not only all that but remember a 660 is still more than 50% more cubes than a 416. i am still waiting for a better honda motor. cannondale is my second choice. i hope honda is taking into consideration that no matter what they build it will get hopped-up!!

according to a few diff. mags and some real world tests a z400 with the same mods kills the 400ex. I know my z which dosent have much done, just the usual pipe filter and runnin no airbox lid. it gives my buddies raptor with the same mods +the header pipe fits through about 4th gear. most of the riding i do is in the woods. so thats all i worry about. and what it lacks in drag races it makes up for in handling over the raptor.

I've never dragged a rapturd,,but after riding a stock Raptor and then riding my 416,,my 416 is faster than the stock raptor I think,,and I was also running 14 tooth counter sprocket and 22inch rear tires. If I had my MX gearing and tire setup i know I could blow the doors off a rapturd,,,now other 416 setups that are out there might be a different story. A piped rapturd is a different story too.

and PDH416,,your 416 will smoke a stock Z-400..

With my old 416 and full race porting, I was beating piped and jetted Raptors all day long!!! Get a good 416 with porting and a good carb and it wont be no problem!!!!

It all Depends on who is driving and what you know your machien can do. All 416s are different. Give it a try and see what happens.

BULL$HI@ !! That 416 will smoke a Z or a Raptor, if it's built right! Before I got my piston, I could beat Raptors with my stock bore, a X-6 pipe, and a cam. I've out ran two eith pipes. Raptor are over motored POS's !! No offense to Raptor owners, but ya'll should sell 'em and get a HONDA or the ZUKi. I've had my EX for 3 years with no problems! (knock on wood)

a Z possibly, a raptor no. my quad as is, moves pretty quick and the z still pulls away at basically every gear after 2nd :D. and I know cause my brother has a stock z so we race all the time, as for the raptor, I doubt because my bro has raced stock raptors and they tool him in drags.

JE 10.8:1 piston 416, mix race gas and 93 octane, XR400 cam, no choke, airbox lid mod, lightened flywheel, powerbong header and bills thunder pipe. stock gearing on both there's no doubt I would win.

please go back and re read that article and take a look at what mods they put on the Z and what they put on the EX. they used way better mods on the Z. Even when it came to the sspension the gave the Z a full suspension and the ex just front and no rear and then when the ex lost in that area they didn't note that. dirt wheel is a bunch of BS and im sick of them hyping the newest thing there definetly taking $$$ under the table and you know honda doesn't even care about sport quads so there getting stepped on.

I have seen a curtis sparks 416 national kit kill raptors and wipe the floor with Z's, but maybe it was rider maybe it was the builder who knows just ride

I had almost the exact setup Rico has except I had porting, and the only Raptor that beat me was a 700 something Raptor,,,the rest of them sucked eggs!!!!

Rico, I am gonna get the same setup except the ligthened flywheel, and ill run the stock moded header with my hmf. Do you think the lightened flywheel made that big of a difference. Oh yeah and the choke is staying in (it's getting snowy and cold in OH and i still want to ride) plus ill get a hotcam stage 1 or 2 not sure yet. That should be a pretty strong engine, maybe ill get a little porting too:D

As for the raptor....it will probly keep up with it until 4th gear....
