Oil in a 400ex, quick rep plz..

Can any of you please tell me how much oil fits in my 400ex 2001 ??

Just shy of 2 quarts. 1.95 I think I always just put 2 quarts.

Our problem is that we just did our first oil change, but after re-filling the carter, it doesn't seem to go around in the engine, it just stays full, and we haven't even put 2 quart in... something like 1.8 quart. I hear that it holds 2.2 quarts. Is it true? and if so, what is our problem ???

I always end up having to put a little bit more then 2 quarts. 2.2 might be right. Put in 2, start it up and see how it is. Then just add until it's inbetween the 2 lines.
