I am looking for a new helmet. I don't really want to spend over $200 but I will if it is worth it. I cant decide, to many choices.

if you race, I would save a little while and get somthin better. read the new quad mag article on the moto helmet. they broke it on a guys stomach. I'll buy an expensive helmet snell rated helmet every time

I seen that. Imagine going face first into the ground at 50 when your wearing that cheezy little POS.

Good as dead.:chinese:

My Thor Quadrant along with my phase jersey/pants/gloves and Quadrant boots were free.

I won a contest in Dirtwheels a while back.

I need to win it again. I need a new helmet bad. Mine has like 5 wrecks on it. No visor....talk about looking hella goofy.:ermm:

Yeah i also agree about dont go cheap on a helmet. When you try on a 150 dollar and a 400 dollar one. say an hjc vs a troylee the difference in comfort is huge! I have a thor force helmet that is 5 years old now lol. Its that special edition one that has all the demons and monsters all over it. Its all crazy chrome and red with some black. Id like to find a new helmet but this one fits me so perfect. To be honest i dont like any of the colors on helmets the last few years. there all so friggin ugly. The only helmet design i kind of like is the nick wey replica bell moto8 helmet. but bell helmets are made in china now so i dunno about that. some where i saw 2007 troylee helmets brand new for 200 bucks. might have been ebay or motosport.

there are a bunch of them really, i dont think ive ever paid more than 130 for a hemet. as long as its snell and or DOT approved, its a good helmet, the more expensive ones are usually just lighter, or have a better looking design. they can be more comfortable, but if you've never had a 400 dollar helmet, you wont know what your missing.

one thing i do suggest making sure you get is a helmet with removable padding so you can take it out and wash it

i think that any helmet with dot and snell rating is good.
but also i think that the ones with kevlar and carbon fiber are better, just for the weigth and protection.

chek this ones at the bottom of the page.. bell moto 8 for under 200.

I've got a HJC AC-X2 for snowmobileing and the next model down for four-wheeling. Both get the job done. The AC-X2 fits like a glove and is a really good quality product. I believe that they have renamed it to something different, but it is still a nice helmet.

See what your local dealer can do for you. I got a 661 for a good bit under price. (not sure if I can really disclose the actual price) and I got a TLD SE 2 for well under $200. If I didn't just buy those I was going to by my buddy's brand new arai VX pro. He only wants like $150 for it!!!!! I still think I might snag it up for that price. Hell that's a $400+ helmet!

I also ran a thor quadrant helmet and was very happy with it. Protected me from a pretty hard crash and did it's job. The foam usually does crack after a hard crash, so make sure you check it. I also ran the no fear optimal? helmet. Very nice for the price. I always try to go with atleast a snell approved helmet. Keep in mind though KBC makes half of the helmets on the market. Personally, I really like my 661 and I believe MSO has them for $270ish, so I'd say it'd be worth the extra money, but that's just me. M2R also makes pretty decent helmets, just check the fit on them because my last one felt kinda goofy.

Sweet...

I have an HJC i got for like $99. DOT approved. Remember, every helmet is designed to work once..... Cant justify a $300 helmet that is gonna crack the same on impact and need to be replaced just like a $99 one

well that helmet is better than the one my dad wears, on his atv he wears a hjc but when his is on his harley he wears a brain bucket and its not dot approved he just got the sticker off his atv helmet the helmet cost 9.99. thats a good helmet when you hit the pavement at 80mph
