if i paint my a-arms will it stay

i wanna get my stock a-arms red on my 250ex, i ask kenny about powdercoating them, but he said he dosent do them becuase you cant take out the ball joints, well wat if i painted then, ,would it be possible to paint them without messin up ball joints, ,and would it look good, or would it chip off when i run over little sticks and stuff, i am not talking about spray paint either, ,proly some automobile paint, cause my friend just painted his truck red and they still have paint , so wats everyones opinions

i did pc a set for someone...but i wont know how they do until he gets to test them out. i am certain i can do the lower a arms....its the uppers that seem more intolerant to the heat( nylon cup behind ball joint) if you paint the arms and use clear it will last about like the stock did.

I painted my subframe with that tri-color Dupicolor spray paint. It seems to stay on pretty well. The paint changes colors, and it was only 15$ at meijers.

the ball joints on a 250ex will come out. they are held in by snap rings and are pressed in. i just picked up my 2001-2003 factory service manual today that i ordered. and it has all the specs for everything.

so kenny how much is it gona cost for me to send them to you, and you pc them red, and then send them back, if all i do is take them off and mail them cause i have no idea how to take the ball joint out and stuff just give me an estimate if you even wanna do them cause i have no money now

I'd say just get kenny to PC the lower ones red, you'll save $ and It'll look much better

just lower, i dont know, have you seen that 250ex on page 4 of the rides section, mine will be just like that except with graphics

i will try and find a 250ex that is trashed or being parted out and get the a arms off of it. i would rather work on a set before i did a set for anyone....that way i will know what all is involved.


in the mean time.....get them stripped and painted.:p

I c, Thats looks purty good. But the wheels being reversed makes the ball-joints show real bad.

Yep, they're holdin good.

I chipped a small spot from bottoming on a rock with one, but other that they're great :D :)

no....there is a difference between a 250ex and a 250x. the 250x was the predecessor of the 300ex. the 250ex is hondas entry level quad. the white a arms were painted....not powdercoated.

and as far as any ad's i want to post....i have bens blessing and i am allowed to if i so choose. i have aranged sponsorship of the site with ben....the site owner.

okay, im pretty sure i got wat im gona do, im gona take my front end apart( with permission of my dad since he paid for it) then paint my lower a-arms red, higher a-arms red, and either polish and clear coat my tie rods, or paint my tie rods yellow, wat do yall think would looke beter, i am for sure gona have pics when im done

If your dad absolutely wont let you remove the arms you can allways just tape and mask off all of it and sand and paint them onthe quad. Its a little more work and you cant get into all the angles correctly but it will work and I had even done it once on my old warrior just to clean up the rust and stuff.

And since most people dont know the right angles to apint anyway its not such an issue :)
