no im not looking for what to adjust it for. i dont know how. theres threads on the top, thats for the preload right? bu the thing above the spring doesnt move up or down when i turn it. what all can i adjust on those shocks? compression, preload, rebound?

i know on the rear shock, you turn the things at the top for the preload, and then with a flat screwdriver, you turn the othere 2 things. the one on the bottom for rebound and the one on top for compression. on my front shock, i dont see anyplaces to adjust the compresssion and rebound, but there is threads at the top for preload, so does that mean i can only adjust the preload on my front shocks? i don't know how though, because theres threads but the thing at the top stopping the spring isnt thread and you cant move it up or down like on the rear.

The top retaining collar has a ring under it. eather mount the shocks or put them in a vise ( clamping by the lower shock mounting eye) be careful not to clamp too hard.
then push down on the upper spring collar compressing the springs, you will see the locking ring just move it up or down and then let go of the spring collar. this is best to do with someone helping.

I used to have those same shocks. I never adjusted them because there's pretty much no adjustments.

Like quad9 said, the only thing you can do is adjust the preload on the springs by moving the clip up and down on the grooves of the shock body.
