got an 05 450r... got fresh port and polish from rossier stage 2 hc and new topend... it will only run when i stab the gas to start it and have it idling high...turn the idle down and it won't start or run... when it is running the headpipe is glowing, but i have a 200 main jet and a 52 pilot so no way it is lean....the timing is right... ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE APPRECIATED

deffinately a lean condition on the pilot circuit. there are several possibilities as to what could be causing this. a misadjusted float level, a clogged pilot jet or even a clogged slow jet (located in the ventura of the carb or a clogged pilot circuit itself.

Sounds lean to me as well. Where is your fuel screw set at, and what needle are you running and what clip is that set at?

are sure that your valves are shim correct it sounds like the intake valves have tighten up, my 05 450r had a similar problem, and that was it, the vavle tighten up so bad that it would idle and you had to give it gas to start,
