it is like a aftermarket cam, for some very dumb reason the atvs are detuned from the bike, the crf cam is pretty unrestricted compared to the trx cam, it all depends where you want the power to come on at, so it is sometimes better than a aftermarket, and sometimes the crf cams arent as good depending on what your doing.

better!!! much better! I use a 03 crf in my R for XC. I am considering trying a 02 but, i like the 03 so much i don thtink i will mess with it....plus. I have no money to buy a 02 crf cam lol

Does the 02-03 CRF carb also fit the 04 trx, or only the 05's????

Did u mean cam? Either way, Yes will work on 04 also.

If u did mean carb.
Any year CRF450 carb will fit any year 450R.
For the 04/05 450R's you will need a NOSS adapter and have to modify the TPS connector.

The 07/08 CRF450 carbs are the best.

I ran an 05 crf cam in my 05 450r and it pulled good from bottom to top. My brother has a 02 crf cam in his 04 450r and it has a lot of mid to top. Depends how you ride. Both my brother and I race xc we just like the power delivery a little different. This year I'm going with the 02 crf but I also have a big bore kit and ported head.

what about a crf 450X cam? would this also work, and how would it be for power?
