I managed to get my hands on a houser frame, a-arms, and swingarm, and I am starting my hybrid build. I am going to go over EVERYTHING, and am paying attention to all the little details, I am building my dream bike so I want it perfect. I will get pictures of all my stuff up either tonight or tommorow. Heres how it sits,

Well im finally doing some work rather then just gathering parts. I just sent out exhaust to get it fitted, hope that turns out nice. I will be sending the frame to the local powdercoaters, early next week and the a-arms, and swingarm are heading to Houser for refurbishment. Heres the ti tri-oval, I got a hell of a deal. Ill post some pics of my parts when I get some time.

Looks really nice!

What geometry style is that frame?
And is built to house that CRF engine?

timmersam
03-24-2008, 03:58 PM
Thanks alot, I dropped the rest of the stuff off at the powder coaters today, should be done before the weekend. All I need is an axle to make it a roller.. cant wait, haha. The frame is 250r geometry, and Houser built the frame for this motor.

That looks really nicee. I love the colour.

i think im gona go for that particular frame also for my build.
Can u pick these houser frames up pretty easily?

timmersam
03-24-2008, 08:16 PM
No unfortunately they are very hard to find, or any other aftermarket frame built for a hybrid for that matter. In the end it depends on what you want, I wanted a 250r geometry so I spent alot of hours searching and trying to find one. One thing you can do is make sure alot of people know what you are looking for, and if something comes hopefully they contact you. I know there is a Laeger frame built for a yz motor floating around here for sale, if you want to go that route. Im sure matt will post it up if he sees this post. You have any more questions feel free to pm me, and ill try to help you out. Anyways here are some more parts. Elka dual rate No-link and Lonestar carrier:

Wow that is a really nice build. Let us know how it handles compared to the stock one and also what are you doing with your old 250r frame and motor and all that stuff because the only thing I see reused is the plastic lol.

timmersam
04-06-2008, 04:21 PM
I sold alot of my extra stuff already haha. But I am using the stem, bumper grab bar, hubs, little things. Its not as wide as I want right now, dont no what to do yet, should be all done in the next few weeks.

Mike

timmersam

Its a lt500 air boot. The width is around +1. I was under the impression that the a-arms were +3 when I purchased them.I am running wheel spacers for now which I am completely against, so ill be picking up another set when I can. Thanks for the compliments.

What brand airbox is that? Maybe a couple pics from over the top how it's mounted ...if ya don't mind.?.

thanks

timmersam
05-03-2008, 12:28 AM
Its an Insane Performance Airbox. I got it off their store on ebay. Good durable, thick material. I dont have it mounted in securely, but I will show you some pictures of what it will end up like. It clears the shock 100% the way I have it mounted now.

Me and kevina2017 went out riding today also:

05-05-2008, 07:25 PM
What is the purpose of the no link set up? Isn't a linkage set up better?

Another of his Arens:

Its higher ground clearance, and usually a longer shock. Its also on a greater angle which im sure has an effect.

I had a rectangular airbox for a while, but was having the same issue of the chain catching, I now have the below which has no clearance issues.

Very nice build!! I am in the process of building a lsr crf hybrid myself, but i am questioning whether or not it will def. be worth all the time and money because i have never owned one before?
How do you like your hybrid? josh

timmersam
05-15-2008, 06:11 PM
I love my hybrid. I have beaten everything I have faced so far as far as shear power goes, including a TC National 450r, and a stroked yfz480. The handling is amazing, you will not be disappointed I promise you.
