Hey fella's,

Man, do I feel stupid.:huh

I just changed the oil and filter on my 400ex. I have done this many times...no biggie. The problem is, I only drained the big tank in front of the motor and forgot the crankcase bolt near the shifter.

This was just a regular interval oil change, not a OMG, it's been a long time since I've changed the oil. So, what do you guys recommend I do? Drain the whole thing again and do it right.... and get 2 more new quarts of oil.....or just leave it?

Just curious how much oil is left in the crankcase if you forget to drain it.

Thanks,

Glamis

crazy candian did that once he drained from teh crank case about teh right amount that normaly comes out then topped back off. just to dilute the old oil as much as possible then just kept an eye on the oil till it got changed

I didnt realize my goof-up untill I had started the motor to circulate the new oil. Do you think I would need to replace the oil filter as well?:( I think it's probably ok, but what do you think???

should be fine. u just may need to change it quicker then normal. say u usually go 30 hours between oil changes u may have to change it in like 15-20. no biggie
