I really don't know much of anything when it comes to subs so I need your help. Ok I know I want 10's I am not brand loyal on anything just want somthing that sounds good. I mostly listen to rock and country but I do like to thump every once in a while. Could you guys help me with what would work well for me? Oh yeah and I am looking to stay under $250 for the subs. Also what amp would be good to run with this setup?
Thanks

i've used all memphis audio in my trucks and been nothing but great. memphis is a bit pricy, but worth it if you want quality. you can get a pair of two memphis class M 10s for 250 or under. M class is the top class.

Thanks for the quick response. Do they have a website or where did you find them?

As mentioned, the CVR is great, on ebay they were like $60 each last time I checked. Alpine type-R is good also, and I think they handle 100W more. They're around $90, either one will do, but I'd choose the type-R over the CVR. Checkout some entry line RE, Fi, IDmax. I'll suggest the driver I'm using (12"), they have 10's, and are 650W RMS I believe (Eclipse SW8000). They sound great, have a lot of low extension and clarity even up past 80hz, and they also don't work in ported boxes because of a high QTC, so if space is your problem! I had 2 sealed 12's running off 220W and it was loud enough for daily so remember you don't need to get crazy :scary: Have fun.

Resonant Engineering... Look them up. The SE series is incredible bang for the buck.

Has anyone had experience with both Alpine(type-r) and RE Audio(SE series)?Which do you prefer? Any other good ones for the $ let me know.

The Alpine type-R vs. RE SE is like 400ex vs. 450r, take the RE SE.

RE (reaudio.com) SE series
FI (ficaraudio.com) SSD series
DD (digitaldesignsaudio.com) 1500 series

To be honest I can't think of many other brands that are worth mentioning above those three brands.

I like Memphis pretty well, but then again it's all I've used so far... I also like the sound of Sony-Xplod, and Kicker though.
