I am wanting to put in a 416 kit and was wondering what are the main differences in the 416 when you add a stage 1 cam and a stage 2 cam.

I had a 416 with 11:1 and 12.5:1 compression and they both worked great with the stage 2. Ive never had a stage one but it will give you a little more low end than the stage 2. So it depends where you want your power. Low to mid or mid to top. You will still have plenty of low with the stage 2 though.

It's nothing wild by any means but it does keep the added power a little lower in the RPMs.

I just installed a 416cc 11:1 Piston with a Stage 1 HotCam and couldn't be happier. It feels like a totally different motor.

is there any need to change gearing with the 416 and how do they compare to the 450r

With 15/39 gearing and stock tires I can run down stock 450Rs but if they even a little work then I need to beat the rider. I'm a big rider though, a smaller or average sized guy would have a better power to weight ratio.
