starting noise after rebuild

my E-start 450r is making a weird noise and im not sure that its normal, i hit the starter and let off it and it sounds almost like a hiss then goes away, does it every time i try to start it, i think its to cold though after it hasnt started in a few months its being tough

Did it eventually start?

My friends 07 was doing this when it wasn't starting. I don't know if its normal or not as I never payed attention to it until he was having problems.
Sounded like compression escaping to me.
Thats my guess.

His wasn't starting because his intake valves had no clearance.

No it hasnt started yes but it ran 100% when i took it out of the frame, the battery kept dieing on me though so i have to charge it again and try it in a few. it sounds like its comming from the starter though
