While attempting ti change axle bearings today after finally getting the nut broke loose I noticed that the spline or threads were turning with the nut. After I noticed this I stopped because I could not get to the clip on the inside and was kinda lost. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There are 2 nuts. Loosen the one next to the brake rotor by rotating it clockwise and than loosen the lock nut near the ring by spinning it conterclockwise . These are LEFT HANDED threads. Once both are loose back the axle nut off far enough to remove the lock ring.

Big tip: To remove the axle bearings, put the axle bearing carrier in your oven at 250 degrees for 30 minutes. The aluminum carrier expands and the steel bearing don't allowing them to practically fall out. When you install the new ones, freeze the bearings and oven heat the bearing carrier again and the new bearing drop right into placed without any beating. Let it cool to room temperature before reinstalling on quad.
