View Full Version : Too Much Oil !!!

Ok. For some reason my dipstick on the reservoir is showing I got to much oil in it. Do i check it with the stick screwd in or just sticking in the top? Also where do I drain the extra oil? From the reservoir or the crank case?

you check it just touched to the top of the oil tank. not screwed in. if you need to drain some out the easiest place is the oil filter cap.

how did you get too much oil? you just posted the other day asking how much. did you not read that post?

do yourself a favor and get a manual. you will save yourself and others some headaches.

the oil is checked with the dipstick just set in not screwed in. and did you run it for 3 minutes before checking it? probably not. but you would have known that if you read the procedure in the manual.

yea I actually did run it. And it was showing it was to full. So I draind some out and got it right about where it should be. Went for a ride and checked it again today and its way to high again.

you can't check the oil in those after they are hot because there is too much oil in the tank. I've had mine overflow when it was hot, but when it is cooled off the level is fine. Seen this happen on multiple Z/KFX/DVX quads and I'm not sure why it does it.

Check the oil without being screwed in.
