take it to the shop and get the tranny rebuilt!

it happened to my old 03 400ex twice, both times it blew the head gasket at the same time.
so it was bout $1500 repair bill at Chaparral

good luck.

Wow! That SUX! How hard do you have to whoop a 400EX to blow the trans? I don't think I've ever messed up a transmission and I've had a LOT of bikes, to beat on back in the day...

well the problem with mine, was it was just a defective engine, it would blow headgasket and 2nd gear at the same point!

chaparral said it was the rider, they said the rider wasnt using the clutch when shifting but thats not true. our friends who bought a 400 at Chaparral the same day we bought ours, never used the clutch and his 400 never had a problem.

if it happens again within the next year or so, trade it in for a newer bike, thats what we did instead of getting it repaired. bike shop never figured out it had a blown gasket and tranny.
