Ok I got a real dumb question, but I want to make sure that I have not gone crazy. I have been in the ATV biz what about 15 years and have been in the racing ATV biz for about 8. And before that I was riding 3 wheelers. Here goes my question.....a-arms.....when you say +3 a-arms, what length is each side? is each side 3" longer or are they 1 1/2" longer make the total weigth of the ATV is 3" wider. Now I have ordered plenty of parts for 400EXs in the past and when I have ordered Houser a-arms say +2....they came plus 1" on each side. So I just want to know if I have totally lost my mind or has Houser been fooling me all these years or has KB Performance done lost thier mind.
I ordered +3 +2 a-arms from KB Performance ebay store, they had advertized that they would work with 10 1/4" shocks or larger. They still have these same type for sale now.

When they came in about 16 days after I paid with PayPal, they are plus 3" each side and my 10 3/4" shocks are about 1 1/2" too short. Making his ATV a total of 6" wider in the front.

They were such a good price for what I thought that I was getting, but I got shafted.

Does anybody make an adapter that you can mount to fit 10" shocks to 12" setup.
I know that i will have to bolt my shocks on the front of the top mount locations kinda like what etondady did.

What do you guys think?ebay KB A-arms (http://stores.ebay.com/kbperformancewarehouse)

the problem with this type bracket is,...... moving..
or well turning ...it could turn while in use .
couple possible fixes ....

1 "box "the section of bracket that goes over the original shock location (&addds strength),

2 ...weld in position ..

3 ..bolt in place with 2 bolts (if possible) at stock location to insure the bracket won't move or turn

I would favor the boxing or 2 bolt idea ..because in the future you may want to get the correct shock for the application & take advantage of the availble travel with longer shocks

Should work for a small kid landing small jumps, but watch out for the severe bumpsteer especially when landing front first. We tried just turning our rims around with extended front a-arms and the bump steer was noticibly worse. Good luck this year! Dan.

if it gets too bad i will turn his backwards to make the deep side be on the inside...when you turn them backward will the valve stem hit anything....never reversed any rims before...
