Sounds like a bad connection. Check and clean all the connections at the battery, and the ground cable at the frame. Also check the connections at the starter relay.

try taping on the starter with a wrench while pushing the start button.sometimes the starter gets stuck.mine gets stuck and i tap it with something and it cranks over.

IF none of that works try jumping the selonoid w/ a screw driver. My 400 would just click when the solenoid was bad

Check the voltage with a meter coming into the starter

Try taking it out and seeing if it looks ok. you might have gotten water in there and it might be sticking. While its out i would run wires from the starter connections to the battery to see if it would spin. If it doesnt or hesitates I would replace it. But if it works, grease / oil it and put it back in and give it a try.

I know I'm asking the obvious, but did you charge the new battery?

After putting the acid in the new battery and sealing it, you're still supposed to charge it.

Also, you did get the TRX300EX battery not the TRX300 battery correct. The TRX300 battery is a much weaker battery and it can have a hard time starting the 300ex.

What's the model# and brand of the battery you got?

Glad you figured it out.

Before you go out and buy a new harness. Pull apart the big connector underneath the tank. There's no dielectric grease sealing that from the factory, it's jsut a plain undealed plastic connector. Those connections get oxidized bad. If you see a black connection you might be able to clean it, or you can just bypass the connector.

If you do get a new harness, be sure to seal that connector w/ some dielectric grease.

LOL, yep. The battery comes with the sulfuric acid you need. They are your standard Lead-Acid battery. It's very simple to do. They call it "electrolyte" so it doesn't sound as scary I guess, but it is sulfuric acid.

haha, nah, I'm not actually scared. I kinda thought that the battery would come pre filled. I was just confused because my battery doesn't have any ports or holes where you can drain the sulfuric acid.
