Will a 450r Swingarm fit the 400?

Yes. The back (where the bearing carrier goes) is about 1/8" narrower though. Just center the bearing carrier up and tighten it down and you'll be ok.

So if I got an aftermarket swinger for a 450r it wouild still work on the EX?

My friend used an after market 400ex swingarm on his 450r all last year. I milled the rear width for him so he could use all the 450r components, had no problems.
But if your getting after market I would suggest just to get the right one, and not have to worry about it.
