we've set the dates for our trip to glamis in 2008. The semi arrives at wash 10, glamis fri 7 mar. leaves sat 15 mar. Last year it cost $270 per vehicle (quad or bike), with 37 people (30 Q 7 (IMG:/cool.gif) if we get the same number of people, the price will be $290 maybe $280. If less than 37 people price goes up accordingly. We load the semi in cleveland the sunday before arrival date so that would be 10am 2mar08. We unload on sunday a week after leaving glamis, that would be 10am 23 mar08. I’m trying to retrieve my pictures that I only had stored on my computer, but are now gone, to post, if not I got other guys on the way. I’m flying pit 6am to Yuma 1:15pm fri 7mar08, returning sun 16mar08 yum 6:30am-pit 3:43pm for $280. I’m renting a suv for the entire period for $630. Whatever, however anyone else gets there is up to them. Those are just prices for what I’m personally doing. Most guys go from cle or cak to San Diego, others to Las Vegas, still others to phoenix. Some rent weekend warriors in phoenix and drive to other ride areas during the week. I drive to San Bernardino mid-week snow skiing at big bear. Others go to Mexico for a day or night with the senoritas. I bring a tent to sleep in, others rent fifth wheel mobile homes out there, delivered to our site for around $1200 depending on size. We had 5 of those last year. We’ve been doing this for 7 years semi, and driving before that. As usual we only have 18 guys mid December, but we’ve always had close to that number and fill up after Christmas/new year.

It’s a great time. Load in cleveland, fly out, drive from whichever airport buying food, pop, beer, etc on the way, ride by fri afternoon/eve., reload a week later on sat morning, head to airport and fly out. Some guys like me fly out Sunday and spend the night at a hotel or casino.

PM Preacher250r or post here for any questions you have.

man, it sounds like i could make a pretty penny to arrange with some guys to pick them up from the phoenix airport, and take my trailer down and let them bunk up and show them around glamis...

Preacher,
Hopefully you and your crew are doing well. It`s been awhile wish Howie and I could make it on another one of your trips.
We have been making it 2x a year with a big group from here on the east coast. To all exrider members this is a bargain on shipping and preacher and his group are first rate. Just hit the dunes following the preacher on his 425 PSI 250R
and guaranteed to have a blast.
Talk soon,
Docbones

Yea Cheetah shee is set up for hill drags now. My 450R is a complete DASA powered set-up 60HP and all suspension set-up for dune shredding. Hopefully we can get out again with you guys. Last month I shattered my left arm and had to miss the Feb. trip to Glamis.

sorry to hear about your arm. i've been repairing a few things from last year, but am pretty well on track now. the dial a dome stripped out and i didn't want to pay the $400 + for a new one so i welded it up with @ 12.5/1 compression ratio so it's right for 91 octane and i only have to worry about the o-rings around the base. also this was the third time the power valve seized up or broke off, so i removed that and had the hole welded up also. it still has good bottom end around here except for trying to lug up a steep incline. this is for the dunes only though so that won't be happening.

we'll have a small crew this year, and it's been a little tough coordinating things. we're all set up now though. preacher

My buddy broke 2 powervalves in Glamis in Feb. He will run block off plates next trip. It seems they can not hold up to steady abuse in the sand?? Tell Chaz in your group I said hello. Be safe and have a great trip.

update on glamis 7mar08 to 16mar08.

right now semi hauling our gear is $480.

each additional person we get drops the price @ $25 each. there's 2 that are really trying to come aboard - about 60-70% possible, and 2-3 more 30 % possible.

right now 9:30am monday 25mar08 plane tickets are $195 from canton-akron to yuma, arizona (1 hour from dunes). i paid $280 in december from pitt, and kieth paid $390 in january for the exact same flight from cak. i'm arriving and departing yuma same time as the $195 flight and can transport you to & from glamis as i'm renting a suv at airport, and george is geting mini-van.

anybody want to ride glamis the end of next week post, pm or email preacher250r.
