I think with the combo of a stroker crank and big bore piston you can get it around 480, but i dont know of a specific 480 big bore kit.

You cant bore that large.... with a stroker/bore combo its possible I guess....

You could do 89mm piston and a +7mm stroker crank to get 479.02.... I guess that could be it possibly.... Sounds more like a ticking time bomb than a fun ride though...

we are doing a small run of 475 big bores. 502 w/ +4 crank and 523 w/+7 crank. but its ALOT of machining. custom sleeves, machine the cases. once i get the first piston i already have a spare jug and bottom end machined waiting for it, if i cant blow it up within 10hrs of ride time ill start selling the kits.

Sounds interesting... What are we talking in parts and machining work cost?

Max im shooting to keep it in the 600-700 ballpark for parts and labor. and alittle more to do the finish assembly.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me! At that price I bet quite a few people would send you their engine... What compression pistons are available and do you have any pictures of the build pregression? Keep us posted, Thanks!

this first one im shooting for 11.5:1. i know people have built the kits in drag and dune setups but never seen anyone using it in a mx or xc setup. so it shall be intresting to see how it holds up. im about 90% positive it will stay together and be fine but you never know till you try it. and im not real big on pics but ill work on trying to get some.

...Sounds good. 11.5 should hold up, hopefully... Maybe 11.0 would be a better bet. It'll be interesting to see what happens and pictures of the build would be neat too, it'll only show your attention to detail and make your kits that much easier to sell :) Good luck, keep us posted!

I thought Sparks offered a 465 kit that was bore only?

Max im more worried about making the product work first, then ill worry about selling it. but we are working on getting the writeup and pics for the whole buildup, then ill try to get it in the mags for some real publicity:D

Getting in the mags is a great idea! I agree with ya, lets see how it works first! Cool stuff man!
